Position Summary
The Blow Molding Mechanic is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and maintaining the blow molder and related production equipment. This position requires a hands-on, experienced mechanic who understands blow molding machines and can support daily production with minimal downtime.
The blow molder will be the main priority for this role. However, this position is also required to work on and support all production lines as needed based on business, maintenance, and production needs.
The Blow Molding Mechanic will work closely with the production supervisor, maintenance team, quality team, and operators to make sure the machines are running safely, efficiently, and producing bottles that meet quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Blow Molding Mechanic will:
- Operate, monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot blow molding equipment during production.
- Perform hands-on mechanical repairs on the blow molder and related equipment.
- Complete machine changeovers, including downstream equipment.
- Check machines daily to make sure they are running properly.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and make repairs when needed.
- Report major equipment problems to management and maintenance leadership.
- Support filler equipment when needed.
- Make sure bottles meet company quality standards.
- Work with Quality Control during inspections, testing, and documentation.
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain blow molding and filler equipment.
- Enter work orders and keep accurate maintenance logs.
- Follow all safety rules, GMP rules, and company procedures.
- Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
- Support production needs and assist the team when needed.
Required Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate must have:
- Hands-on mechanical experience with blow molding equipment.
- Strong mechanical skills in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing production machinery.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
- Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems is preferred.
- Experience with filler equipment is a plus.
- Ability to complete changeovers and machine adjustments.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and make good decisions during production.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic computer skills to enter work orders and maintenance notes.
Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to:
- Lift up to 75–100 lbs when needed.
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the shift.
- Work in a loud, fast-paced production environment.
- Work around production equipment, moving parts, and wet areas.
- Follow all required PPE and safety rules.
Work Expectations
This is a hands-on position. The Blow Molding Mechanic must be reliable, safety-focused, and able to respond quickly when equipment issues happen. The main goal of this position is to keep the blow molder running, reduce downtime, support production, and maintain bottle quality.
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
