Pet Resort - Receptionist Position - Complete description bottom (Royal Oak, MI)

Pay: 13+ Based on experience
Hours: We are open from 8am - 7pm Monday through Saturday and 10am-7pm on Sundays. All applicants must be available to work these shifts. Our lobby is closed for all major holidays, but we do ask that at least one office team member comes in to complete certain office tasks.
Position: Looking for a fast-learning receptionist who is detail oriented, friendly, and reliable. All applicants must have experience working with pets or experience in customer service. Must be willing to cross train amongst other departments and learn all aspects of our facility. General knowledge of dog breeds and behavior is required. All positions offer upward mobility.
Office Duties:
□Answering phone calls and emails
□Creating reservations
□Checking In/Out dogs and confirming all instructions for pets' daycare, grooming, and boarding appointments.
□General cleaning/maintenance of the office
□Handle complaints and emergencies amongst customers or pets
□Working alongside other departments to ensure that all clients and dogs' are happy with their experience
□Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs is preferred
□General knowledge of dog breeds and behaviors is required
Demonstrates:
□ A love for all animals
□ Compliance with food and chemical handling and storing
□ Assures that pets feeding and medication notes and property are logged and entered into system
□ That all pets are checked routinely for:
fresh bedding and water
clean floor and bed
old food dishes are removed
normal behavior
□ Ability to make notations on Boarding Cards as required for updates about reservations as well as issues during the stay
□ Compliance with resort safety protocol: wearing approved apparel and shoes
□ Ability to move pets safely inside and outside of the resort without issue
□ Compliance with resort protocol regarding protecting ones face and limbs from injury
Operations
□ Assists other kennel staff with pet care basics and/or emergencies actions
□ Never leave pets with the grooming dryer longer than 15 minutes without checking them
□ Uses kennel equipment for kennel use only; radios, computers, phones etc.
□ Always uses professional language when using resort radios
□ Completes shift reports accurately and timely
□ Participates in staff moral programs
Work Environment
□ Presents a positive attitude toward pets and other staff
□ Replenishes supplies at cleaning stations
□ Ensures that all resort supplies and group play tools are in good working order and when not, notifies management
□ Attends company meetings when requested
□ Complies with new procedures and practices when notified'
