Position Description:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for all day to day payroll functions for multiple clients. Must be well-versed in all payroll functions, including running and setting up payroll, registering for state payroll accounts, responding to state and federal payroll agency letters, filing and amending state and federal payroll tax filings, onboarding and dismissing employees, and have thorough knowledge of working in a cloud-based payroll software. Gusto Payroll software is what we use and having experience in Gusto is a plus!
Additional responsiblities include collecting W-9's, filing and submitting 1099's, filing and submitting sales tax returns, bookkeeping in Quickbooks Online, generating financial reports, account receivable and account payable duties, and some front end “soft” collections.

This is a remote role so you will have a high level of autonomy to crush your goals. We have very clear expectations so you will know where you stand at all times. You must have high-speed internet and a dedicated office space. You also must be available to work during business hours Monday through Friday.
This position is a full time salaried position. We want to make sure we are a good fit for each other and that you have the knowledge you need to be successful.

How You’ll Contribute:
- Set up, manage, and run payroll in Gusto software for multiple clients
- Prepare and file sales tax and payroll tax returns in multiple states
- Assist with month-end close process and recording bookkeeping transactions for several clients on those days that you are not working on payroll
- Register for state payroll accounts
- Respond to state and federal payroll tax agency letters
- Correct issues on state payroll tax agency sites
- Understand how to record payroll garnishments, contributions/deductions for benefits, etc
- Run off-cycle, bonus and commission payrolls
- Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years payroll experience, preferred
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in cloud-based payroll software. Experience in Gusto payroll software, preferred
- Proficient in Google Sheets and Excel
- Ability to interact with clients, look and speak in a professional manner
- Be on-time, energetic, and ready to take on the world
- Your video turned on for all meetings always, no exceptions
- College degree preferred but not necessary
