Job Summary
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Fence Installer to help execute high-quality fencing and secure access projects. In this role, you will prepare installation sites, dig post holes, pour concrete, set posts and securely assemble fencing and gates. The ideal candidate has strong physical stamina, a keen eye for precise alignment, and a commitment to safety and quality.
This role involves learning our techniques, overseeing demo, supply & installation, and communicating with homeowners and businesses.
Your prior experience in carpentry and/or fence construction will help drive project success while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Duties
- Site Preparation: Clear obstacles, rocks, roots, brush and debris from the designated fence path.
- Layout & Measurement: Measure and mark fence lines and posthole positions according to property layouts.
- Digging & Groundwork: Dig post holes using hand tools, manual posthole diggers, or power augers.
- Setting Posts: Mix and pour concrete to securely anchor wooden, vinyl, or metal posts.
- Fence Assembly: Cut materials to size, align rails, and attach pickets, chain-link mesh, or pre-built panels.
- Alignment Checks: Use levels and string lines to guarantee perfectly vertical and straight fences.
- Gate Installation: Assemble and attach gates, hinges, latches, and security locks.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Tear down old, damaged fencing and repair existing fence structures.
- Site Clean-up: Keep work vehicles organized and leave customer properties free of debris.
- Client Interaction: Confirm fence layouts with customers and maintain a professional demeanor.
Skills
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in fencing, construction, framing, or carpentry is highly valued.
- Tool Proficiency: Skill with power tools, augers, saws, drills, levels, and tape measures.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (60–80 lbs) and stand or kneel for long periods.
- Environment Adaptability: Willingness to work outdoors daily in changing weather conditions.
- Driving License: Valid driver’s license with a decent driving record to operate company trucks.
- Other Skills: Strong communication, punctuality, and the ability to work seamlessly in a team.
