SAIL is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Health Advocate Support Specialist to assist with the delivery of the Independent Consumer Advocacy Network (ICAN) Program. ICAN is New York State’s Ombudsman program for individuals with Medicaid who require long-term care or behavioral health services. This support role will focus on data entry, administrative tasks, and assisting the Health Advocate with consumer cases. The position will also help with basic program functions, including community outreach and general consumer support as well as acting as a Consumer Directed Personal Assistant Facilitator. Occasional evening or weekend outreach events may be required based on agency needs. Limited regional travel may be necessary. A reliable vehicle is essential to the role.
Key Responsibilities: Provide administrative support to the Health Advocate, including data entry, documentation, and maintaining accurate and confidential case records. Assist with gathering consumer information, preparing case files, and supporting the coordination of services. Support basic consumer inquiries related to Medicaid and Medicare long-term supports and services, referring complex matters to the Health Advocate. Help organize and participate in outreach activities and community events as needed. Communicate professionally with consumers, staff, and external partners to support program operations. Helping with the enrollment process for both consumer and personal assistant which includes explaining eligibility and requirements to both parties. Coordinate scheduling, track deadlines, and assist with general program organization. Assisting with application forms, training and guiding consumers and their PA’s with the applicable apps and portal as well as acting as an ongoing liaison. Collaborate with internal team members to ensure timely and accurate reporting and service delivery. Perform other administrative or support tasks necessary to assist the Health Advocate and overall program

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
