We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS) and DPCS Designee to lead our clinical team and ensure the delivery of exceptional hospice care. This leadership role is ideal for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about patient-centered care, regulatory compliance, and team development.
Position Summary
The Director of Patient Care Services is responsible for the overall direction, supervision, and coordination of hospice clinical services. This position oversees the delivery of quality patient care, ensures compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards, and provides leadership to the interdisciplinary clinical team.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of all hospice clinical services.
- Supervise and support nurses, clinical supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation, California regulations, and ACHC standards.
- Oversee patient care planning, implementation, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in hiring, orientation, performance evaluations, and staff development.
- Assist with budgeting, staffing, and operational planning.
- Promote a culture of compassionate, high-quality hospice care.
- Serve as Acting Administrator when delegated, as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Meets California Director of Patient Care Services qualification requirements.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience in a hospice/ home health or related setting is required.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and clinical assessment abilities.
- Knowledge of hospice regulations, Medicare requirements, and ACHC accreditation standards.
- Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.
- Experience with hospice EMR systems.
- Master's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field is preferred
Salary is negotiable.
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
