The Front of House Staff is responsible for providing excellent customer service, ensuring a welcoming environment, and supporting day-to-day café operations. This role involves taking orders, preparing beverages, handling cash, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace to ensure customer satisfaction and uphold brand standards.
Duties and Responsibilites:
Customer Service Excellence
- Provide a warm, friendly, and professional experience for every guest.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints efficiently and with a positive attitude.
Order Taking & Cash Handling
- Accurately take and process customer orders.
- Handle cash and card transactions responsibly, ensuring accurate accounting of sales.
Beverage & Food Preparation
- Prepare beverages according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Assist with food presentation and packaging, ensuring it meets quality standards.
Maintenance of Cleanliness
- Keep the front-of-house area, including the counter, tables, and floor, clean and organized.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained and sanitized in compliance with food safety regulations.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor stock levels of consumables (cups, napkins, etc.) and report shortages.
Assist with restocking and inventory organization as needed.
Upselling & Promoting Products
- Offer suggestions and recommend signature menu items or seasonal promotions to enhance the customer experience.
- Maintain knowledge of all products to confidently answer customer questions.
Adherence to Brand Standards
- Follow the café’s protocols and standards to maintain the brand’s quality and image.
- Contribute to an atmosphere that aligns with the bakery's welcoming and high-quality brand.
Job Requirements & Skills:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication.
- Basic knowledge of cash handling and POS systems.
- Familiarity with basic coffee and beverage preparation.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness.
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is an advantage but not required.
- Familiarity with food and beverage operations in a café or bakery setting.
