Position: Inventory Specialist
Location: Nasa Spennis Space Center, MS (Onsite)
Employment Type: 3-Month Contract with Potential for Extension
Pay Rate: $21.20 per hour
Position Overview
- Receive, unload, and inspect inbound shipments for damage and accuracy.
- Verify and process receipts using inventory management systems.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Store, stage, sort, and organize materials according to standard procedures.
- Label and identify inventory to ensure traceability.
- Package and prepare materials for storage or production.
- Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT), including forklifts, electric pallet jacks (EPJs), reach trucks, and turret trucks.
- Perform inventory audits and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Identify quality or process issues and escalate concerns to support continuous improvement.
- Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and standard operating procedures.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse, inventory, and production teams to meet operational goals.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of warehouse, fulfillment, receiving, or inventory experience.
- Previous forklift certification and experience operating PIT equipment.
- Experience with inventory management or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
- Basic math skills and experience maintaining inventory accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing warehouse operations.
- Experience reading Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Inventory auditing or cycle count experience.
