Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case development across various practice areas.
- Assist with drafting legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Review legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable laws including title 59, NJ LAD and municipal law, and more.
- Support attorneys with client interviews by preparing questionnaires and summarizing key information for case analysis.
- Perform data entry, filing, and administrative support tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars.
- Proofread and transcribe legal documents to ensure error-free submissions while maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist with project management tasks related to ongoing litigation or transactional matters involving estate planning or landlord-tenant issues.
- Maintain professional communication via phone etiquette while providing exceptional executive administrative support when needed.
Qualifications
- Paralegal experience or relevant legal administrative experience is required; familiarity with multiple practice areas such as general litigation and public entity representation.
- Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms.
- Proficiency in document review, legal drafting, proofreading, transcription, and case management systems like iManage or PCLaw.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with data entry, filing systems, and clerical tasks within a law office setting.
- Knowledge of NJ law and prior experience working with litigators or public law is advantageous.
- Effective communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for client interactions.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team of attorneys and staff. Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
