Montessori Lead Guide - Children’s House (Ages 3–6)

Role Overview
The Montessori Lead Guide is responsible for guiding a Children’s House classroom in alignment with authentic Montessori philosophy and practice. This role requires deep respect for the child, strong classroom leadership, and a commitment to fostering independence, curiosity, and lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a developmentally appropriate Montessori environment
- Present Montessori lessons aligned with the curriculum and philosophy
- Observe, assess, and document individual student progress
- Foster a respectful, calm, and inclusive classroom community
- Guide social-emotional growth and conflict resolution
- Mentor and collaboration with Assistant Guides
- Communicate effectively with families and school leadership
- Model professionalism, kindness, and Montessori principles
Qualifications
- Montessori Lead Guide certification required
- Experience leading a Children’s House classroom preferred
- Strong classroom leadership and organizational skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth
- Ability to obtain required PA DHS/DOE clearances and training
Compensation
$27/hour – Montessori Lead Guide training required
Schedule:
Candidate can choose between two options:
- Full-Time Year-Round (12 months) 8:00-4:00 Monday through Friday
- Part-Time School Year only: 8:00-4:00 Monday through Friday on School Schedule
Montessori Assistant Guide - Children’s House (Ages 3–6)

Role Overview
The Montessori Assistant Guide supports the Lead Guide in creating and maintaining a calm, purposeful, and joyful learning environment. This role is ideal for a Montessori-trained professional who thrives in collaboration, enjoys working closely with young children, and is committed to authentic Montessori practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Guide in maintaining a prepared Montessori environment
- Observe children and assist with individual and small-group activities
- Model grace, courtesy, and respectful communication
- Help maintain classroom order, cleanliness, and materials
- Assist with daily routines (arrival, meals, outdoor time, dismissal)
- Foster children’s independence, confidence, and social-emotional development
- Partner with the Lead Guide to support classroom norms and community culture
Qualifications
- Montessori experience and/or Assistant Guide training required
- Experience working with children ages 3–6 preferred
- Warm, patient, and a dependable team member
- Ability to obtain required PA DHS/DOE clearances and trainings
Compensation
$23/hour – Montessori experience and/or Assistant Guide training required

All positions require the ability to obtain PA Department of Human Services and PA Department of Education required clearances and trainings. If you do not have current clearances the Y will help you obtain them.
