Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, providing product information and recommendations.
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately.
- Handle cash register operations, including cash handling, balancing the cash drawer, and processing various payment methods.
- Upsell products and promote store specials or new items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with merchandising displays to maintain an attractive store environment.
- Conduct product demos when applicable, showcasing features to customers to boost engagement and sales.
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
- Support inventory management by stocking products and assisting with inventory counts as needed.
- Provide friendly customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Assist in training new team members or supervising staff during shifts to ensure smooth store operations.
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and retail sales transactions.
- Strong cashiering skills including cash drawer handling, basic math proficiency, and cash handling accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in person and over the phone.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs better.
- Previous supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities within the team.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and grocery store operations preferred.
- Ability to perform retail math calculations quickly and accurately for transactions and inventory management.
- Experience with upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities.
- Familiarity with stock management procedures and product demos enhances overall customer service delivery.
