About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll & Accounting Coordinator to support our payroll administration and accounting team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a college student, recent graduate, or early-career professional interested in gaining hands-on experience in payroll, accounting, and business operations.
The ideal candidate does not need extensive payroll experience. We are looking for someone who is organized, comfortable working with numbers and systems, communicates well, and takes ownership of deadlines and follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate payroll information and ensure required documentation is received before payroll deadlines.
- Review employee timesheets and payroll-related submissions for completeness.
- Follow up with employees regarding missing or incomplete payroll information.
- Track employee payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, PTO, and other payroll-related updates.
- Prepare payroll information for processing and coordinate with payroll providers.
- Review payroll reports for completeness and identify unusual or potentially incorrect items for further review.
- Maintain payroll checklists, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and other basic accounting tasks.
- Maintain organized and confidential employee and payroll records.
- Respond to routine employee payroll questions and escalate technical matters when necessary.
- Assist the Accounting & Finance team with other administrative and accounting projects as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Current college student, recent graduate, or early-career professional in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheets.
- Ability to follow established procedures and meet recurring deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to follow up and hold others accountable for required information.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Experience with Excel or Google Sheets.
- Prior payroll or accounting experience is helpful but not required.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
