SPM Resources has an immediate need for a Sr. Design-Build Bridge Engineer for a rapidly growing transportation engineering firm in Charlotte, NC. Will support heavy structural and civil design and design-build engineering projects in SC, NC, and GA. Qualified applicants will have a BS in Structural or Civil Engineering, a PE license, and the desire to be a part of taking a growing organization to the next level. Will be an integral part of the leadership team delivering on large-scale transportation and infrastructure development. Opportunity is based in their new Charlotte, NC engineering headquarters. Will lead bridge design and design-build projects with autonomy, supported by management and staff. Ensure project performance from concept to delivery, mentor junior staff, and foster a collaborative environment while delivering constructible solutions aligned with general contractor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as Engineer in Charge for bridge design and design-build projects
- Lead projects from pursuit through final design and construction support
- Develop project execution plans including scope, schedule, and staffing
- Manage bridge design and design-build projects independently, ensuring timelines and quality expectations are met
- Assist with proposal development and development of schedule, design, and quantities
- Ability to coordinate directly with contractors and multidisciplinary design teams
- Perform and oversee structural analysis and design of steel and prestressed concrete bridges
- Lead development of plans, calculations, specifications, and cost estimates
- Provide constructability input during design-build pursuits
- Participate in design-build meetings, risk reviews, and value engineering workshops
- Support alternative technical concepts and proposal development
- Mentor junior engineers and support skill development
- Provide technical training and design guidance
REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years of bridge design experience with increasing responsibility
- Ability to work directly with contractors and owners and lead projects independently
- Proficiency in MicroStation and structural analysis software such as Leap/OpenBridge Designer, CSI Bridge)
- Strong experience in SC, NC, and GA; other states a plus
- Prior design-build project experience is required
- Comfortable in fast-paced design-build environment
- PE license required
Pay: $95,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
