We are looking for an energetic, caring, customer-service-oriented person to join our team. The Medical Office Receptionist position is an integral role to the flow of the practice. The Medical Office Receptionist provides the initial contact experience to our patients from the point of scheduling appointments, answering phones, registration, and fielding calls. This role is expected to provide exceptional customer service to our patients, guests, and vendors at all times regardless of the circumstance of a situation. The position requires administrative duties that will include but not limited to: answering phones, scheduling appointments within the guidelines set forth by the practice, registering patients, strong understanding of medical insurance, ability to learn the insurance plans providers participate with, insurance verification, collecting, processing payments, prior authorization, proper documentation in the EMR system, and maintaining a clean waiting room. This is a snapshot of expected duties but other duties may be assigned to serve our patients with exceptional care and customer service. Note: This is a Dermatology group that has two locations Basking Ridge and Hillsborough and this role is required to travel between both locations to meet the needs of the providers and patients.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills for effective appointment scheduling
- Excellent communication skills for phone triage and patient interaction
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using medical office software and electronic health records
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling patient information
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred
Experience and Education:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Prior dermatology experience a plus but not required
- Prior HIPAA training, experience, and/or understanding
- 2+ years of working in the healthcare field
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Superior customer service skills

- Greet and assist patients as they arrive, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the front desk efficiently, including phone triage.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
- Organize and manage office tasks, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate effective patient care.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
