Material Handler – Shipping & Receiving
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Material Handler to join our team. This position is responsible for receiving and unloading incoming raw materials from our sheet suppliers, organizing and storing materials, and supplying the production floor as needed.
Extensive forklift experience is required. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating a forklift for extended periods and safely handling large quantities of corrugated sheet material. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, accuracy, and reliability are essential.
Pay is based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a forklift to unload incoming trucks and raw materials from sheet suppliers.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against packing slips.
- Safely move, stack, and organize corrugated sheet material and other raw materials throughout the facility.
- Ensure materials are stored properly and are easily accessible for production.
- Deliver raw materials to production areas as needed to keep manufacturing operations running efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of received materials and report shortages, damage, or discrepancies.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work closely with production and management to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Perform other material handling and warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Extensive forklift operating experience required.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, or a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience unloading large or heavy raw material shipments strongly preferred.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift in a busy manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail when receiving and verifying materials.
- Ability to read and understand packing slips, shipping documents, and basic production paperwork.
- Ability to lift, move, and handle materials as required.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Manufacturing or corrugated industry experience is a plus.
