American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position specializing in post-op cardiac and vascular surgery patients, requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications on a night shift schedule.

Hospital-based telemetry unit with 20 beds, including 3 progressive care (PCU) beds
-
Specializes in post-op CABG, post-op cardiac surgery, valve replacement/repair, vascular surgeries, CHF, and moderate-risk chest pain patients

Patient population is frequently transferred from the ICU, ED, and PACU and presents with multiple comorbidities and complex care needs

Night shift: 7p–7a, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hrs/week)

Weekend and holiday coverage required

13-week contract
-
Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation

ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred

Previous nursing experience preferred but not required

DOB (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, patient and family education, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities

Collaborates with an inter-professional team including Case Management to coordinate individualized patient care

Participates in unit-based quality improvement initiatives such as patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
-
Nursing practice is evidence-based and aligned with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines
