UT San Antonio's College for Health, Community and Policy trains students to develop solutions for complex social issues to improve the well-being of our communities. Department of Psychology
The Department of Psychology, located in the College for Health, Community and Policy, hosts one of the largest majors on campus (over 2,200 students) and offers degree programs at the BA, MS, and PhD level. Students at each level have opportunities to assist in faculty research. Our 22 tenured and tenure-track faculty and 5 fixed-term, full-time teaching faculty represent many of the traditional subfields of Psychology and bridge between areas. Psychology faculty have a history of collaboration with researchers at the US Army Research Institute as well as various industry and community partners. The department also has strong ties to the affiliated academic medical center, UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, as well as TX Biomed, Veterans Administration, Pearson Testing Company, San Antonio Military Medical Center (including Brooke Army Medical Center), the Institute for Army Surgical Research, and the STRONG STAR Consortium. Salary Range: Up to $55,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Position Summary
The Department of Psychology invites applications for a Full-Time Assistant Professor of Instruction Position. This position is a non-tenure track or Fixed-Term Track (FTT) position that offers a dynamic teaching environment with the majority of the workload focused on instruction and a small service component. This position will be expected to teach either four courses a semester (80%) with a 20% service workload or teaching a four-five or five-four teaching loading (90%) with a reduced service load (10%).
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to undergraduate students. Responsibilities include course preparation, classroom instruction, assessment of student learning, and timely communication with students. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the broader mission of the department. Although position will largely be responsible for teaching face-to-face, the successful candidate will have experience with teaching across a variety of modalities.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely-related discipline.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching undergraduate-level courses, as evidenced by teaching evaluations, syllabi samples, or other relevant documentation.

This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.
Preferred Qualifications

2 years of teaching experience, as an instructor of record (not as a graduate teaching assistant).

Teaching experience at the undergraduate level that includes one or more: Behavior Analysis and Learning, Experimental Psychology, Experimental Lab, Introduction to Clinical Psychology, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Psychopathology, Lifespan Developmental Psychology, Physiological Psychology, Sensation and Perception, and/or Statistics for Psychology.
- Experience using evidence-based and/or active learning teaching methods across online and/or in-person settings.

Engagement in service related to undergraduate students, potentially including curriculum and competency development, advising, and recruitment/retention is preferred.
- Commitment to student success and retention.

Effective collaboration with faculty, staff, and students.
