Summer Migrant Program Counselor
June 15, 2026 - July 23, 2026 (12 hours per week)

What You Need:

Ability to work successfully with students, staff, administrators and community members

Daily, In-person attendance and ability to be organized and work collaboratively with students, staff and families

Must be flexible

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Bilingual spoken and written (English & Spanish)

Familiarity with migrant and immigrant issues and challenges, locally, regionally, and nationally

Good communication skills and ability to relate to a variety of people in multiple situations – office, fields, community agencies, school personnel, students, and/or parents, etc.

Knowledge of local resources – social and health service agencies, e.g.
-
Flexibility in schedule and approach to work assignments. Possible night and weekend hours

Provide a structured, orderly, safe, and respectful environment for students

Perform other reasonably related duties
Responsibilities
-
Providing student support for students K-12
-
Providing Counseling services to K-12
-
Providing social emotional support to K-12
-
Advising students for college and career placements, 7-12
-
Organizing guest speakers and field trip experiences related to college and career pathways, 7-12
-
Coordinating credit recovery programs 9-12
-
Advising students on school credits and graduation requirements 9-12
-
Assisting with community program referrals

Assisting with administrative and family liaison responsibilities as needed

Completes other duties that may be assigned by the Migrant Coordinator or Federal Programs Director
Skills/Certification
-
High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Spanish speaking ability preferred
-
Show passion about the teaching/learning process for every child

Build relationships with students and families

Provide customer service atmosphere for our community
