POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Personal Care Attendant (PCA) plays a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals who may have physical or cognitive limitations. The PCA is responsible for assisting clients with bathing, showering, grooming, and other personal hygiene tasks. They may also assist with light cleaning, cooking, running errands, and doing laundry. They also engage clients in activities like reading, talking, and playing games. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of required TB testing
- National/expanded current criminal background check as required by Indiana
- Current CPR Certification
- Valid drivers license
- Proof of current car insurance and the ability to maintain reliable transportation
- Ability to understand and carry out directions or instructions and to keep records
- Able to use the telephone and communicate information regarding client concerns
- Able to follow independently with minimal supervision agency policies
- Ability to move intermittently throughout the work day, inclusive of sitting, standing and bending, pushing, or pulling.
- Able to complete housekeeping and cooking duties
- Ability to relate to and work with the various personality styles, ill, disabled, and elderly
- Skilled in interpersonal relationships, reliable, trustworthy, honest, attentive, caring
