Duties
- Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care, including prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, and other preventive procedures in accordance with the dentist's treatment plan.
- Perform comprehensive periodontal assessments, charting, oral cancer screenings, and document findings accurately in patient records.
- Take digital dental radiographs, CBCT images, intraoral photographs, and 3D scans while ensuring patient comfort and adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, nutrition, and home care recommendations to support long-term oral health.
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide (where permitted by state licensure) to ensure patient comfort during treatment.
- Utilize the Trios scanner and other digital technologies to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient education.
- Manage patient records accurately using Dentrix and electronic medical records (EMR), documenting treatment according to clinical standards.
- Identify areas of concern, communicate findings with the doctor, and collaborate on comprehensive treatment planning.
- Maintain treatment rooms by following infection prevention and infection control protocols, processing instruments, and ensuring all equipment is properly sterilized.
- Support the front desk team by helping manage patient flow, scheduling hygiene recare appointments, and professionally responding to patient inquiries as needed.
- Maintain clinical confidentiality while creating a welcoming, respectful environment for patients of all ages.
- Collaborate with teammates to ensure smooth daily operations and an exceptional patient experience.
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist in a busy dental practice with strong knowledge of preventive and periodontal care.
- Proficiency with digital dental technology, including digital radiographs, intraoral scanners, and electronic charting systems.
- Strong understanding of periodontal disease, preventive dentistry, infection control protocols, and sterilization procedures.
- Experience with Dentrix or similar patient management software is preferred.
- Excellent patient education and communication skills with the ability to build trust and motivate patients toward improved oral health.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred.
- Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state is required. Local anesthesia and nitrous oxide certification (where applicable) is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
