Overview
Eskin Law is a Maryland law firm focused on high-volume foreclosure litigation, title, and distressed real estate matters. The firm is built around systems, technology, and well-defined processes, allowing complex, high-volume work to be handled with accuracy and consistency. The firm is mainly remote and paperless, and we run a lean operation, which means your work is visible and it matters.
Position Overview: You will carry matters through the full lifecycle, manage the docket you are given, and assist all team members of the firm. Statutory notices begin in mid-September and filings surge in November and December, so the volume is real. You will work in batches, follow written procedures precisely, and flag anything that does not fit the pattern.
Day To Day, You Will:
- Open and maintain matter files in our file platform with complete, verified data
- Order and review title work, identify every interested party, and flag defects
- Prepare and send statutory notices, and capture proof of mailing on every piece
- E-file complaints and motions on MDEC under attorney supervision
- Coordinate service of process and property postings with outside vendors, and track service to completion
- Draft letters, pleadings, affidavits, and client correspondence
- Prepare redemption payoff figures and file dismissals and releases once a matter redeems
- Work directly with vendors, courts, clerks, county tax offices, and title companies
- Track every statutory and court deadline, and surface anything at risk before it slips
What You Need
- Two or more years of litigation paralegal experience, Maryland preferred
- Direct experience e-filing in MDEC
- Ability to draft letters, pleadings, and affidavits with light supervision
- Comfort on the phone with courts, clerks, vendors, and property owners, many of whom are in financial distress
- The organization to run a docket of hundreds of matters in a system of record and update it the same day
- Availability during Eastern business hours, working from a private and secure location
- Maryland residence
Real estate, foreclosure, or title is a plus.
Who We Are Looking For
Someone who takes a task and finishes it. If you need a piece of information, you find it. If a county clerk needs to be called, you call. If something is broken, you tell the team and propose the fix.
This is a deadline practice. Nearly everything we do is governed by a statute or a court date, and a missed deadline is never a small error. The people who do well here are careful, direct, and comfortable asking a question rather than guessing.
Compensation and Benefits
$65,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience. This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime.
Benefits and other compensation include a 401(k) with firm matching, health insurance, paid time off, paid sick time, firm-provided equipment and software, paid training on our systems, and a discretionary annual bonus tied to firm performance and completion of the tax sale cycle.
Growth
This is not a fixed seat. The firm is growing, and the person who does this job well gets the opportunity at broader responsibility. If you have something you want to grow into, let us know.
