Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care and ensuring patient comfort. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical tasks to support the dentist and enhance the overall patient experience in our dental clinic.
**This position is currently only for FRIDAYS-- Our office hours in the Summer/Spring are 7am-12pm & in the Fall/Winter 7am-3pm**
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and current health status.
- Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing procedures using appropriate techniques.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of preventive care.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Review and update medical terminology and documentation systems to ensure compliance with best practices.
- Ensure all instruments and equipment are sterilized and prepared for use in accordance with safety protocols.
Requirements
- Valid dental hygiene license in the state of practice.
- Proficiency in assisting with various dental procedures and familiarity with four-handed dentistry.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology.
- Experience with documentation review processes within a dental clinic setting.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about oral health.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining a focus on patient care.
