Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment while maintaining proper infection prevention protocols.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
- Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Denticon or Dentrix), ensuring accurate documentation of medical and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques, sterilization of equipment, and adherence to healthcare infection prevention guidelines.
- Support the dental team with chairside assisting, including preparing materials, handling dental equipment, and ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Educate patients about dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care to promote understanding and compliance.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness while maintaining strict confidentiality of all patient information.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).
- Proven experience in general dentistry; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health.
- Familiarity with dental equipment operation, X-ray techniques, and infection prevention management practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively across all age groups, including pediatrics.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting with professionalism and efficiency using aseptic techniques.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Experience in healthcare infection prevention and control protocols within a dental setting.
- We have a very competitive compensation bonus - where our hygienist are making $80-$90 an hour
