This is a senior-level network engineer position in the Enterprise Technology Core Networking team that will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable, and resilient network services in support of the university’s network services. This includes configuring and operating network devices (routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls), as well as supporting services, such as Infoblox DDI and VPN services, to support the university’s enterprise and research and education functions.

Provide consultation services for university customers for implementing and integrating new technologies and services on the campus network. (50%)

Design, deploy, and operate network services to support the university’s enterprise and research and education functions. (40%)

Provide operational support for the campus Infoblox DDI system. (10%)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

7+ years of current/recent network engineering experience with Cisco IOS-XE and IOS-XR routers and switches.

5+ years of current/recent network engineering experience Fortinet firewall systems.

2+ years of current/recent experience working with Infoblox DDI (DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management) systems.

Working knowledge navigating and configuring mainstream consumer devices (macOS, Windows, iOS, Android).
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

DevOps experience building and implementing network automation processes.

Experience with Python, Perl, and UNIX shell scripts.

Experience working in large university environments (30000+ students) supporting academic (instructional and research) and administrative functions.

Experience with enterprise networks running retro-packet network architectures.
$120,000 + depending on qualifications

Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm. Occasional work outside standard hours is required (e.g., maintenance or incident response). Hours over 40 per week accrue compensatory time. The role includes 24x7 escalation and the expectation of being reachable when not on PTO.
