Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Banquet Captain to lead our banquet service team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the smooth execution of banquet events, coordinate with culinary and service staff, and ensure guests enjoy outstanding hospitality. Your leadership will drive efficiency, uphold food safety standards, and create a welcoming atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise banquet service staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences during events
- Coordinate with kitchen teams on food preparation, presentation, and timing to ensure seamless service
- Oversee setup, breakdown, and cleanliness of banquet spaces in accordance with event requirements
- Manage food handling procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and proper food safety management
- Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling
- Monitor inventory control to maintain adequate supplies while minimizing waste
- Train staff on food production, service techniques, and hospitality best practices to foster a high-performing team
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service management, catering, or banquet operations within casual or fine dining environments
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS; proficient in cash handling and basic math skills
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with team management, staff training, and shift management skills
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and food handling procedures in the hospitality industry
- Excellent communication skills for managerial coordination and customer service excellence
- Background in managing hospitality teams within restaurant or banquet settings; experience in managing food production and catering is preferred
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
