LifeLab is hiring a part-time, remote Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to lead a physician-designed metabolic and weight management program serving patients throughout California.
This role is ideal for a clinically strong, organized, and entrepreneurial clinician who wants to help build a modern metabolic medicine program combining weight management, GLP-1 therapy, body composition, cardiometabolic prevention, and data-driven patient monitoring.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting remote patient evaluations and follow-up visits
- Prescribing and managing GLP-1 medications and related therapies
- Managing side effects, dose adjustments, refills, and prior authorizations
- Monitoring weight, body composition, laboratory results, and clinical progress
- Using LifeLab’s Metabolic Advisor platform to develop personalized recommendations and longitudinal reports
- Identifying patients who would benefit from VO2 max, resting metabolic rate, body composition, and cardiometabolic testing
- Following standardized clinical protocols while escalating complex cases to the supervising physician
- Helping refine workflows as the program grows
Qualifications:
- Active California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
- Current prescribing authority
- Strong clinical judgment and patient communication skills
- Comfortable providing telehealth care and managing patients independently within established protocols
- Organized, responsive, and reliable
- Comfortable learning new clinical workflows and technology
- Interest in metabolic health, preventive medicine, exercise physiology, or healthy aging is helpful but not required
Prior experience in obesity medicine or GLP-1 management is not required. LifeLab will provide training in the clinical protocol, medication management, testing pathways, and Metabolic Advisor platform.
Structure:
- Part-time and fully remote
- Initial schedule of one or more half-day clinical blocks per week
- Flexible expansion as patient volume grows
- Compensation structured around clinical volume and program growth
- Patients will be located in California
