Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment according to safety standards and technical specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to execute precise installations and repairs
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete electrical tasks on construction sites or renovation projects
- Test electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults or issues
- Work with low voltage and high voltage systems in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) regulations
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure electrical components are integrated seamlessly into building frameworks
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections conducted for compliance and future reference
- Follow safety protocols rigorously to prevent accidents or hazards during installation or maintenance activities
Skills
- Extensive experience working as an industrial or commercial electrician with a solid understanding of electrical systems
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate installations
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics related to automation systems
- Skilled in the use of hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, pliers) and power tools for efficient work execution
- Ability to work on construction sites with experience in renovation projects and framing carpentry when needed
- Familiarity with low voltage wiring systems as well as high voltage applications in compliance with NEC standards
- Strong troubleshooting skills using testing devices such as ohmmeters and multimeters to diagnose issues quickly
- Hands-on experience with construction site safety procedures and handyman tasks related to electrical work
- Excellent blueprint reading skills coupled with the ability to interpret technical schematics accurately
- Experience working on diverse projects including renovations, new constructions, or upgrades involving complex electrical systems
