Donovan Property Service is hiring an Area Supervisor to lead snow removal operations for the 2026-2027 winter season in the Bronx NY. This is a seasonal, on-call position — work is weather dependent and scheduled around active storm events, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed. You'll oversee a team of plow truck drivers, sidewalk crew members and equipment operators providing plowing, shoveling and deicing service to commercial and industrial properties.
Prior to the start of the winter season, you'll work with the Operations Manager to prepare for winter:
- Conduct pre-season inspections at customer sites
- Deliver equipment and materials to sites
- Hire and train seasonal crew members
- Plan routes
- Perform equipment readiness checks and coordinate repairs as needed
- Review customer site requirements and ensure crews are trained on site-specific expectations
After pre-season preparations are complete, we switch to winter operations:
- Manage and coordinate a team during storm events, maintaining safety for our team, our customers and the general public.
- Report crew status and performance updates to your manager
- Conduct field inspections of completed work across your crew's routes/sites
- Schedule truck pickup times and coordinate logistics for your crew
- Determine and request the number of shovelers needed for each shift/site
- Ensure crews are fully equipped before dispatch — chemical/salt supply, shovels, and other equipment
- Troubleshoot issues in the field and adjust crew assignments as needed during active storms
- Be available for on-call scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays during storm events
What we're looking for:
- Prior experience in snow removal required
- Prior experience supervising or managing a crew, ideally in snow removal, landscaping, construction, or a similar field preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- CDL preferred
- Comfortable driving to multiple sites during a shift
- Strong communication skills — you'll be the link between your crew and your manager
- Able to work outdoors in winter conditions. This is a working supervisor role. You must be able to show your team how good work is done safely.
- Available for on-call scheduling — this is seasonal, weather-dependent work, so shifts are triggered by storm events, including overnight/weekend/holiday response
- Organized and able to manage logistics (truck scheduling, staffing levels, equipment/supply needs) under time pressure
- Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
