An outpatient substance use treatment program is seeking a Substance Abuse Nurse (LPN) in New York, NY. This role supports patient care by dispensing medications, assisting with clinical assessments, and contributing to an interdisciplinary treatment team in a structured clinic setting.

Shift: Day shift

Schedule: Monday through Friday, with every other Saturday

Hours: 6:15 AM to 1:45 PM; Saturdays 8:15 AM to 12:15 PM

Setting: Outpatient clinic
Responsibilities:

Dispense and administer prescribed medications while maintaining accurate records and documentation.

Assess patients and provide care within the LPN scope of practice.

Verify last methadone doses for patients returning from hospitals, detox programs, and other care settings.

Carry out provider orders and assist during crises, emergencies, and clinical procedures.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
Qualifications:

Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in New York State.

At least 2 years of experience in a substance abuse services environment.

Experience dispensing medications.

Experience with phlebotomy.

Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and teamwork skills.
Desired Skills:

Experience in a methadone clinic.

Bilingual Spanish proficiency.

Familiarity with EMR systems.
