We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a passion for clinical research to join our innovative healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories, ensuring accurate documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks.
- Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following HIPAA regulations and DEA guidelines for controlled substances.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans across primary care, geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and specialty areas such as gastroenterology and infectious disease care.
- Assist in clinical research activities by recruiting participants, collecting specimens, managing data entry in systems like Cerner or Athenahealth, and ensuring adherence to study protocols.
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, dermal fillers administration, spinal taps, catheterizations, and sterile processing techniques.
- Manage urgent care cases including acute pain management, airway management, triage assessments, and emergency interventions within Level I trauma center or ICU settings.
- Educate patients on health coaching topics like nutrition, medication adherence, disease management (including Workers' compensation law), and post-discharge instructions to promote optimal health outcomes.
Skills
- Proven experience working with diverse EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Extensive clinical background in acute care environments including hospital medicine, ICU/CCU/PCU units, emergency room experience, or Level I/II trauma centers.
- Proficiency in performing advanced procedures like sonography, gastroscopy preparations (gastric lavage), spinal taps, catheterization (urinary and vascular), and laser treatments for esthetic purposes.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology for prescribing medications within scope of practice; familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes; understanding of ICD-9/10 coding standards.
- Experience in telehealth delivery models to provide remote patient assessments and follow-up care effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively under physician supervision through collaborative practice agreements while demonstrating leadership in patient care management.
- Excellent communication skills for working with children, seniors requiring memory or dementia care, individuals with developmental disabilities or complex chronic conditions such as dialysis or ventilator dependence.
