Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Church Pianist/Organist to enrich our worship services and musical programs. This dynamic role involves performing a wide range of musical styles, from traditional hymns to contemporary religious compositions, to inspire and uplift our congregation. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of liturgical music, excellent technical proficiency on piano (organ playing ability a plus) and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with choir directors, worship leaders, and other musicians. Responsibilities
Administrative:
· Playing piano/organ for two-three 9:00am Sunday worship services each month. Playing for service assumes hours of practice in advance that is included in the pay range.
· Engage parishioners in worship with joy-filled playing
· Coordinate with CSS (Come Share the Spirit) church band for schedule of playing each month
· Help select songs, hymns, inspiring music for services to be playing
Leadership
· Work collaboratively with Pastor, Office Administrator, Sound and Worship Techs in preparation for worship
· Lead hymn-based and Christian oriented music for worship services
· As needed, play for additional special services (funerals, holidays, weddings, etc.) as requested which may occur on another day of the week other than Sunday. Playing for service assumes hours of practice in advance that is included in the pay range.
· Coordinate with Choir Director for rehearsing and playing with Choir (as needed)
Skills & Experience
· Enthusiasm for providing quality liturgical music experience for parishioners
· Able to work well with other music volunteers helping to develop an exciting, engaging music
ministry for adults and children
· Music major or minor helpful, but not required, and/or previous related experience
· Knowledge of Lutheran hymnodies or willingness to learn
· Able to sight read music
· Strong piano skills preferred (organ skills are desired, but not required)
· Ability to adapt to unforeseen changes in worship services such as time constraints, technical issues, etc.
· Good communication skills
General Duties
· Ensure piano and/or organ is cared for (helping coordinate tuning, maintenance, etc.)
· Attend Worship & Music Committee meetings as requested by the Pastor
· Maintain professionalism in manner, dress and work habits
· Role may be expanded as pianist becomes more familiar with congregation

Pay range is commensurate with experience. Additionally, pay rate per hour assumes playing at the service and the hourly practice required for each service along with other administrative tasks.
Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
