Shift Lead – Retail
Cascade Cottons is seeking a friendly, outgoing, dependable, and motivated Shift Lead to join our retail team in Bend, OR. This role is ideal for someone with experience in leading a sales team who enjoys leading by example, providing excellent customer service, and creating a welcoming experience for every customer.
As a Shift Lead, you will assist the manager to oversee daily store operations, delegate team tasks, ensure scheduled breaks and lunches are taken, and help maintain a clean and organized store environment. Responsibilities include training staff to be outgoing and create a fun, enthusiastic customer experience, assisting customers, operating the POS system, handling cash, opening and closing the store, completing closing procedures, and ensuring the store runs smoothly when manager is unavailable.
The ideal candidate has strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and previous retail or leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner
- Create a memorable customer experience that leaves visitors excited to return to Bend
- Help customers select souvenirs and retail merchandise based on their needs
- Provide general information about local attractions, dining, and activities in Bend
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandise displays
- Restock merchandise multiple times a day
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and accurately process cash and credit card transactions
- Open and close the store according to established procedures
- Delegate daily tasks to team members and follow up to ensure they are completed
- Ensure team members take scheduled meal and rest breaks in accordance with company policy
- Serve as the manager on duty on managers days off, overseeing daily store operations and ensuring the store runs smoothly
- Respond to customer questions and resolve concerns in a professional manner
- Support all team members by leading by example and assisting wherever needed
Qualifications
- Previous retail or customer service experience required
- Previous supervisory experience required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, organized, and team-oriented
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light items
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including most weekends, and holidays, and as business needs require
Job Details
- Location: Bend, OR (In-person)
- Job Type: Full-time, 38-40 hours per week (30 hours per week in the winter)
- Pay: $19–$20 per hour
- Schedule: Flexible schedule, Monday–Sunday. Weekend availability is required.
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
