Duties
- Assess and treat sports-related injuries using advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and sports medicine principles
- Develop and implement injury prevention protocols tailored to each sport and athlete’s needs
- Provide immediate first aid and basic life support during athletic events or practices
- Educate athletes on proper body mechanics, nutrition, hydration, and overall health coaching strategies
- Maintain accurate records of athlete health status using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems
- Collaborate with coaches to modify training programs based on athlete condition and recovery progress
- Conduct routine physical assessments to monitor athlete fitness levels and identify potential risks
Skills
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to sports medicine
- Proficiency in health coaching techniques to motivate healthy lifestyle choices among students
- Expertise in implementing injury prevention protocols and managing athlete patient care effectively
- Knowledge of body mechanics to advise proper movement techniques and reduce injury risk
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of medical information
- Ability to perform first aid and basic life support confidently in emergency situations
