Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and welcoming Host Front Door Staff member to be the first point of contact for our guests. In this, you will create a positive first impression by managing guest arrivals, coordinating reservations, and ensuring smooth seating processes. You will be responsible for To Go orders as well as phone reservations and guest relations.
Applicants must be 18 or older for this position.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression
- Manage restaurant reservation systems, including booking, modifying, and confirming reservations efficiently
- Answer incoming phone calls with courtesy and professionalism, handling inquiries about reservations and wait times
- Maintain organized guest lists and waitlists to optimize seating flow during busy periods
- Acurately take to go orders, ringing out the guests and hadnleing cash and credit card transactions.
- Support food service staff by communicating guest needs and ensuring timely seating
Requirements
- Local college students encouraged to apply.
- No summer help applications
- Prior experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and welcoming demeanor
- Must be able to work weekends (Friday, Saturdays and Sundays)
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear verbal interaction
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, waitlist calculations, and POS transactions
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed
