American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an OB/L&D position at an acute care facility in Minnesota, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OB/L&D experience and an active MN RN license.

12-hour night shifts with every 3rd weekend required
-
13-week assignment at an acute care facility with a Trauma Level 3 designation
-
OB/L&D unit caring for postpartum, stable antepartum, newborns, GYN, Med-Surg overflow patients, and may serve as 2nd RN in the Special Care Nursery (SCN)

Average census includes approximately 5 mom/baby couplets, 2 pediatrics, 1 GYN, 2 labor, and 4 SCN patients

Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN Standards: 1:3 mom/baby couplets, 1:5 GYN/Med-Surg, 1:3–4 pediatrics

Support staff include a ward clerk (0700–1900), CNA (Tuesday–Thursday), Charge Nurse/Circulator, Resource Nurse, and an LPN Scrub Nurse — all without patient assignments

Floating is expected, primarily as helping hands, but travelers may be required to take a Med-Surg patient as needed

Charting via Epic (Epic One Chart); experience preferred

Equipment used includes Omnicell, Philips Vitals Machines, Bladder Scanner, Medela Breast Pumps, Responder 5 Call Light System, and Medfusion Pumps

Active MN RN license required; temp or pending MN license may be considered depending on timeline to start

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required — must be AHA-issued

Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required; certifications must be active at time of consideration (no pending certifications)

Minimum 2 years of OB/L&D experience required, including postpartum

Ability to float to Med-Surg and Telemetry as needed

2 current professional references required: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from the same specialty within the last 3 years

PALS certification preferred but not required

L&D circulator experience is a plus
-
Responsibilities include caring for postpartum, antepartum, newborn, GYN, and Med-Surg overflow patients, as well as serving as a 2nd RN in the SCN when needed

Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their submission date

Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to an adjusted pay rate

Equipment and unit orientation provided on the first day (approximately 8 hours)

Navy blue scrubs required

All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
