Why does the job exist?
Supervise Accounts Payable staff by reviewing all payment vouchers to ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures tor financial transactions. Use knowledge of SHARE financial system to review and monitor purchase orders and vouchers prepared by staff. Communicate with staff, facilities and vendors to correct transactions so policies and procedures are followed. Complete staff performance reviews.
How does it get done?
Provide program guidance and direction to Accounts Payable unit staff on matters pertaining to business processes. 25%
Supervise staff by reviewing all payment vouchers to ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures for financial transactions using the SHARE financial system to review and monitor purchase orders and vouchers prepared by staff. 25%
Assist in vouchering invoices for payment. 25%
Communicate with staff, facilities and vendors to correct transactions so policies and procedures are followed. 20%
Make recommendations for improving procedures, processes, and use of technology. 5%
Minimum Qualification
Associate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience operating within parameters and guidelines in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, contract management, and/or in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
