The Florida Chamber of Commerce seeks a Governmental Affairs Manager to assist in the development of the Florida Business Agenda, provide policy research, build presentations, and support advocacy efforts of the Governmental Affairs team on behalf of Chamber members and in support of Chamber initiatives. This includes handling all lobbyist registrations and disclosures, managing calendars, and providing executive support for VP of Governmental Affairs and Executive Vice President.
The Governmental Affairs Manager will manage all bill tracking, attend committee meetings as assigned, and be held responsible for the accurate execution of the Florida Chamber Legislative Report Card during Legislative Session.
This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and enjoy administrative challenges in the role of supporting others. The ability to interact with staff and customers (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible and proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability and attention to detail are equally important.
Requirements:
Must be proficient with Microsoft office, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to adapt, and management of multiple tasks at once.
Experience with Lobbytools (or a bill tracking software) and the legislative process is preferred.
Previous Executive Support preferred.
