Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Preschool Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that incorporate early childhood education principles, including Montessori methods when applicable, to support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Create engaging lesson plans that include activities in literacy education, math, arts and crafts, physical education, and sensory play to stimulate curiosity and learning.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques to foster a respectful and inclusive environment for all children.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about each child's progress, milestones, and any concerns to ensure a collaborative approach to child welfare.
- Supervise daily activities such as circle time, outdoor play, nap time, snack time, and structured learning sessions with a focus on toddler care and preschool teaching strategies.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety standards; maintain accurate records of attendance and developmental progress.
- Provide first aid and CPR when necessary to ensure the health and safety of all children in your care.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting is essential; familiarity with classroom management techniques is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and special education needs.
- Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content that supports literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional growth.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and team collaboration.
- Certification in first aid and CPR from an accredited organization; ongoing professional development in early childhood education preferred.
- Experience with standardized testing or assessments used in early childhood settings is a plus.
- Ability to work with diverse student populations including toddlers and children requiring special education or behavioral management support.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child abuse or neglect; commitment to child welfare standards.
