Responsibilities
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and equipment ensuring proper sterilization and aseptic techniques in accordance with infection prevention management policies
- Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems ensuring accurate documentation of medical and dental history, vital signs, and treatment notes
- Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing dental wellness
- Maintain dental equipment, including sterilization procedures for instruments and operation of dental tools like intraoral cameras and dental x-ray machines
Skills
- Proficiency with xrays, impressions and all dental procedures
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times
- Experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques to uphold clinical safety standards
- Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools effectively
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical procedures across various specialties like pediatric dentistry and oral surgery
- Excellent patient management skills with a focus on providing compassionate care in pediatric or general dentistry settings
Candidates who are bi-lingual and able to communicate in Spanish are highly encouraged to apply.
Must have at least 2 years of proven dental assisting experience with strong knowledge of all dental procedures.
