Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and confidence
- Assist customers with product inquiries, product demos, and upselling opportunities to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain an organized cash drawer through proper cash handling and balancing at shift end
- Stock shelves and merchandise displays to ensure products are well-presented and accessible
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and offering helpful suggestions
- Support merchandising efforts by organizing products according to store standards and assisting with inventory management
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone
- Promote store promotions and special offers to maximize sales opportunities
- Assist in stocking and replenishing store inventory as needed to ensure product availability
Requirements
- Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering preferred, especially in grocery or retail environments with POS systems
- Strong basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide outstanding customer service
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and grocery store operations is beneficial
- Familiarity with retail math, cash register operations, cash drawer handling, and cashiering procedures required
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the store, and lift moderate loads as needed
- Demonstrated phone etiquette skills for professional communication with customers and vendors
