Manager, Ticket Sales

Compensation: $50,000 – $60,000 base salary, commensurate with experience

MLV NorCal is part of Major League Volleyball (MLV), a unified professional women's volleyball league launching in 2027 in the Bay Area and Sacramento. We are building this organization from the ground up, and revenue will fuel everything we do.
OVERVIEW
The Manager, Ticket Sales will play an active role in building and executing the ticket sales strategy for MLV NorCal ahead of our 2027 launch. The ideal candidate has experience training and motivating a sales staff, with a track record of exceeding sales goals in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This role will play a key part in recruiting and hiring the Ticket Sales staff from the ground up, with a strong emphasis on season ticket membership revenue growth and a full-menu approach to group and premium/suite sales. This position reports to the Director of Revenue.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the recruiting and hiring process for the Ticket Sales staff, building the team from the ground up
Oversee new business sales strategy, with an emphasis on founding season ticket membership
Manage and implement the department's sales training and new-hire onboarding process
Lead the planning and execution of season ticket membership outbound sales efforts, including appointments, product launches, pipeline growth, and sales events
Collaborate with the marketing department and sales leadership to grow revenue across all ticketing products, including season, group, partial-plan, and single-game sales
Drive sales efforts through regularly scheduled prospect events
Partner with the Director of Revenue and business analytics to establish a robust leads strategy and CRM processes
Provide consistent weekly and monthly sales reporting on pipeline, activity, and revenue production
Work closely with sales and service leadership to build a cohesive, high-performing team culture from day one
Embrace fan development initiatives and community outreach efforts consistent with a “Fans First” approach
Bring forward new ideas and innovative approaches to increase attendance
Represent MLV NorCal at home games and events to support ticket sales and premium efforts
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly activity levels, pipelines, and revenue production against goals
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3–5 years of ticket sales experience; professional sports and/or entertainment preferred
1–3 years of experience leading or mentoring a sales team, with demonstrated success
History of being a top revenue producer for a sports and/or entertainment organization
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, startup, build-from-scratch environment
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
Strategic, process-driven planner with strong attention to detail
Strong passion for teaching and coaching a sales process
Ability to work collaboratively across departments with a team-first mentality
Proficiency with CRM and ticketing systems
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays for home games and events
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.; this position is not eligible for work authorization sponsorship
