Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with government agencies, community stakeholders, media representatives, and other key partners.
- Develop and execute comprehensive public relations strategies, including crafting press releases, speeches, and social media content to promote organizational initiatives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries; coordinate interviews and press conferences to ensure accurate messaging.
- Conduct policy research to inform advocacy efforts; analyze legislation and government policies relevant to organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams on strategic planning, marketing campaigns, and fundraising initiatives to enhance visibility and stakeholder engagement.
- Lead negotiations with external partners and government officials to facilitate project approvals or policy changes aligned with organizational priorities.
- Prepare reports on public affairs activities, monitor media coverage, and evaluate the effectiveness of outreach efforts for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in government agency relations, public affairs policy advocacy, or related roles within a governmental or nonprofit setting.
- Strong media relations skills with a track record of managing press releases, media campaigns, and social media management.
- Excellent negotiation abilities coupled with public speaking expertise for engaging diverse audiences confidently.
- Background in journalism or legal drafting is advantageous; familiarity with legislation processes is essential.
- Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—demonstrating clarity, professionalism, and persuasive ability.
- Experience conducting policy research and analyzing legislative documents to support strategic advocacy efforts.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders while managing multiple priorities within budget constraints.
