Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder with experience in MIG, TIG, and Flux Core welding processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding tasks using MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Flux Core (FCAW) processes
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Set up welding equipment, select appropriate materials, and adjust settings for optimal results
- Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces
- Repair and rework welds as needed
- Maintain welding tools and equipment in safe working condition
- Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality control personnel
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (technical/trade school preferred)
- Proven experience with MIG, TIG, and Flux Core welding
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols
- Familiarity with various metals (steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality
- Knowledge of welding safety standards and procedures
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred Certifications:
- AWS (American Welding Society) certification or equivalent
- Additional welding certifications are a plus
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing or fabrication shop environment
- May involve indoor and outdoor work depending on project requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged standing, bending, and working in various positions
- Ability to work in environments with heat, noise, and fumes (PPE provided)
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Forty hours per week/10 hours per day/Monday through Thursday, 6:30am to 4:00pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
