This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Supplemental Instructor – ACLS/PALS Clinical Simulation who will be all-in on our mission and will play an essential role in preparing healthcare learners for real-world practice through simulation-based education. This position provides high-quality instruction and skills training in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) courses in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. The Supplemental Instructor will facilitate realistic simulation scenarios that reinforce clinical knowledge, promote critical thinking, and encourage teamwork in healthcare environments. This role also includes setup and operation of simulation equipment, learner evaluation, and collaboration with faculty and staff to deliver innovative and engaging educational experiences.
EDUCATION
Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred: Associate’s Degree or higher in a healthcare-related field.
CERTIFICATIONS
Required: Current ACLS and PALS certification (American Heart Association).
Preferred: Current ACLS and PALS Instructor certification.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Clinical background in nursing, paramedicine, respiratory therapy, or another healthcare discipline.
Preferred: Prior experience in teaching, clinical education, or healthcare simulation.

Salary: Amarillo College follows a lag pay strategy, with starting offers typically between the minimum and midpoint of the pay grade, rarely reaching the maximum to support long-term growth within each position.

10 Amarillo College Pay Grades (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and simulation facilities, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies up to twenty-five (25) pounds as needed.
Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary).
Work Environment: This position operates primarily in classrooms, simulation labs, and clinical training environments. Routinely uses standard computers, phones, audio-visual equipment, and simulation technology in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, and various other educational applications. Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision.
