Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Service Department.
Provide direct patient care, including wound care, medication administration, and resident assessments.
Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Supervise and mentor nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry advancements and best practices.
Demonstrate excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Requirements:
Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of Florida.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related healthcare facility.
Minimum of 6 months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
Strong understanding of nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Work Environment:
Works in office areas and throughout the nursing service department.
Moves intermittently throughout the workday.
Is subject to frequent interruptions.
Communicates with medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department directors.
Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
Performance Evaluation Criteria:
Assists the Director of Nursing Services in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
Develop work assignments and schedule duty hours, and/or assist nursing supervisory staff in completing and performing such tasks.
Makes daily rounds of the nursing service department to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
Reports findings to the Director.
