About the Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated, customer-focused leader to join our High Point, NC store as a Manager in Training (MIT).
This is more than an assistant manager position. Our goal is to develop the right person into the Store Manager of a successful, high-volume Batteries Plus Bulbs location.
You will work directly alongside an experienced Store Manager and progressively take on greater responsibility for sales, customer service, team leadership, inventory, store operations, and overall business performance.

What You'll Do
As a Manager in Training, you will learn and ultimately help lead all aspects of the store, including:
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience and build lasting customer relationships
- Drive sales and achieve store sales and performance goals
- Learn our battery, lighting, and related products and confidently recommend solutions to customers
- Lead by example in sales, customer service, and daily store operations
- Help recruit, train, coach, and develop team members
- Provide day-to-day leadership for a team of full-time associates
- Learn and eventually take ownership of opening and closing procedures
- Manage inventory, receiving, merchandising, and loss prevention
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional store environment
- Handle customer concerns and resolve problems effectively
- Assist with scheduling and staffing
- Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities to improve results
- Learn the financial and operational aspects of running a successful retail business
- Assume increasing responsibility for the store as your skills and performance develop
- Step into the Store Manager role when you are ready

Battery industry experience is helpful but not required. We can teach the products. We're looking for someone with the leadership ability, work ethic, personality, and ambition to become a Store Manager.
Your Development Path
Our experienced Store Manager will provide hands-on training and mentoring. Your responsibilities will increase as you demonstrate your ability to lead.
Phase 1 – Learn:
Learn our products, systems, sales process, customer experience standards, inventory, and daily operations.
Phase 2 – Lead:
Begin leading the team, handling customer issues, driving sales goals, and taking ownership of specific store operations.
Phase 3 – Manage:
Run the store with increasing independence, including sales performance, team development, inventory, operations, and customer experience.
Goal – Store Manager:
Become capable of independently managing a successful Batteries Plus Bulbs location.

The Person We're Looking For
