Core Responsibilities:
- Provide professional natural hair care services: styling, braiding, extensions, treatments, cuts, and color.

- Market salon services on social media and during client interactions.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support salon operations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure cleanliness through daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
- Monitor and restock supplies.
Required Qualifications
- Active cosmetology license.
- At least 1 year of experience in natural hair care (or willingness to learn).
- Proficiency in techniques like braiding, extensions, wig styling, silk presses, and color application.
- Strong customer service skills and professionalism.

Junior Stylist
A Junior Stylist is a professional in the early stages of their career, typically with less than 3 years of experiencein the natural hair industry. They are focused on developing foundational skills specific to natural hair care, such as understanding various curl patterns, mastering safe detangling methods, and perfecting basic protective styles.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with routine services like shampooing, detangling, and prepping hair for advanced styles.
- Learn and practice techniques like two-strand twists, cornrows, and blow-drying with minimal heat.
- Build confidence and speed in service delivery while ensuring quality.
- Supervision & Training:
- Junior Stylists often work under the guidance of Senior Stylists or salon leaders to ensure their work aligns with the salon’s standards.
- They participate in ongoing training to improve their understanding of advanced techniques, such as silk presses, intricate updos, and maintaining high-shrinkage textures.
- Focus:
- Building a client base and earning trust through excellent service.
- Enhancing client communication skills to provide personalized recommendations for natural hair maintenance.
Senior Stylist
A Senior Stylist is a seasoned professional with 3+ years of experience in a salon and a deep understanding of natural hair techniques. They demonstrate mastery in handling all hair textures, including Type 3 curls and Type 4 coils, and excel in advanced services like creative styling, transitioning haircuts, and silk presses.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality services efficiently, even for complex styles like knotless braids, intricate loc styles, and custom cuts for natural hair.
- Lead consultations to assess hair health, recommend treatments, and develop customized care plans for clients.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and techniques in natural hair care.
- Leadership Role:
- Senior Stylists often mentor Junior Stylists, providing guidance on improving technique, speed, and client interaction.
- Contribute to the salon’s growth by retaining a loyal clientele and boosting team morale.
- Focus:
- Maintaining expertise in advanced styling and treatments.
- Consistently achieving or exceeding revenue targets through excellent service delivery and upselling retail products.
