Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Make Ready Technician to join our dynamic facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing residential units for new tenants by ensuring all systems and interior features are fully operational, safe, and visually appealing. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections of units to identify repair needs related to electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building interior maintenance.
- Repair or replace electrical equipment using schematics and technical manuals; troubleshoot issues with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical equipment.
- Conduct HVAC system repairs and routine maintenance to ensure optimal climate control within units.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose and resolve mechanical or electrical problems efficiently.
- Complete maintenance painting, drywall repairs, carpentry work, plumbing system repairs, and facilities equipment maintenance to prepare units for occupancy.
- Follow safety protocols during all repair activities; maintain accurate records of work performed using schematics and maintenance logs.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate repairs and ensure timely completion of unit turnovers while providing excellent customer service to tenants and property staff.
Experience
- Proven experience in building interior maintenance, facilities maintenance, or similar roles within residential or commercial settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, schematics, and troubleshooting electrical or plumbing systems.
- Familiarity with HVAC system repair and HVAC systems within residential properties.
- Knowledge of plumbing system maintenance and repair techniques; ability to use an ohmmeter for electrical diagnostics.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus but not required.
- Ability to read technical schematics and building plans accurately.
- Excellent communication skills in English; capable of providing clear instructions and updates during repairs.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
