Office & Business Manager | Meurer & Potter, P.C. | Greenwood Village, CO
Meurer & Potter, P.C. is a boutique estate planning law firm in Greenwood Village, CO seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Office & Business Manager to oversee the operational, financial, and HR functions of our firm. This is a part-time, reduced-hours opportunity (15–30 hrs/week) ideal for an experienced professional who is looking to step back from a full-time role without stepping away from meaningful, high-trust work. The right candidate has already built a career managing these responsibilities and wants the autonomy and flexibility of a lighter schedule. The schedule and responsibilities are flexible, and can be adjusted for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll and serve as the primary point of contact for payroll questions
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, renewals, and ongoing support
- Coordinate performance reviews and maintain accurate personnel files
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding; maintain firm policies and refine the employee handbook
- Ensure compliance with Colorado employment law, including wage and sick leave requirements
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable and account reconciliations in QuickBooks
- Track firm expenses and vendor payments; support the firm's outside accountant during tax season
- Maintain trust/operating account recordkeeping practices in accordance with firm policy
- Manage office inventory, supplies, and vendor relationships
- Maintain and improve firm systems, including practice management software, filing, and scheduling
- Serve as the primary contact for facilities, IT vendors, and insurance matters
- Assist with other administrative and operational projects as needed
Qualifications
- A well-established track record (typically 5+ years) in a substantially similar role — office manager, business manager, or practice administrator — at a law firm, medical or dental office, or other small professional services business
- Direct experience running payroll and administering employee benefits
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and general bookkeeping practices
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities without close supervision
- Discretion in handling confidential HR, financial, and client information
- Comfortable learning and managing new software and systems; experience with Clio or similar practice management software a plus
- SHRM certification and prior law firm experience preferred but not required
Compensation & Position Details: $32–$55 per hour (approximately $30,000-$70,000), commensurate with experience, for approximately 15-30 hours per week. Schedule is flexible and can be structured around the right candidate's availability.
