- Harbor Developers is seeking a dependable, detail‑driven Construction Estimator / Project Administrator to play a key role in our pre‑construction and project delivery operations. This position is designed for a construction professional who brings strong technical expertise, confidence in navigating complex project documents, and the ability to support multiple projects with precision and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Review plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to define project scope and requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and assist in preparing accurate estimates, budgets, and bid proposals.
- Utilize AI‑based estimating tools and software to support efficient project analysis.
- Request and organize pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors; evaluate bids for completeness and alignment with project scope.
- Support project managers with scheduling, submittals, RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, and project closeout documentation.
- Track bid deadlines, project documents, meeting notes, and internal follow‑up items to ensure timely completion.
- Communicate professionally with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, field personnel, and internal team members.
- Maintain organized project files, cost histories, and pricing databases.
- Attend pre‑bid meetings, site walks, and project meetings as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of construction estimating, project administration, or related experience strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify scope gaps or inconsistencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence interacting across all levels of a project team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, QuickBooks, or other construction management software is highly valued.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize effectively, and operate independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
